Iran is "directly engaging criminal networks abroad to carry out attacks against Jewish targets and make Jews in Europe unsafe," according to a report by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF).

The July report evaluated Iran's continued violations of freedom of religion or belief both domestically and abroad. It paid particular attention to the government's recent targeting of religious minorities – including Baha'is, Jews, Christians, Sunnis, and various non-Muslim minority groups – in the wake of a June 2025 military escalation.

According to the report, Iran continues to promote and instigate antisemitism abroad, both via criminal networks and online and through social media.

One example it cited was the attempted assassination of a rabbi in Azerbaijan in January by a Georgian drug trafficker hired by Iran. While the plot was foiled, it was later reported that members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force had paid the man $200,000 to carry out the attack and also recruited a local Azerbaijani to surveil the rabbi's movements.

In July, Danish authorities arrested a man recruited by Iranian intelligence authorities to gather information on possible attacks on Jewish targets, such as synagogues and Jewish leaders in Germany. Both stories were reported by The Jerusalem Post at the time.

According to USCIRF, Iranian authorities have actively recruited gangs throughout Europe "to carry out attacks on Israeli embassies and Jewish sites, including houses of worship, memorial centers, restaurants, and community centers."

The IDF has sent out 80,000 draft orders to haredi men and is preparing for large-scale arrest operations nationwide, in coordination with the Israel Police.

The military is ramping up draft enforcement ahead of Rosh Hashanah, when thousands of haredim are expected to travel to Uman, Ukraine, by creating a system to aid in arresting draft dodgers at Ben-Gurion Airport.

In September, the IDF will hold a partial amnesty period, allowing all draft dodgers to enlist without being arrested, in exchange for a full year of regular military service, along with other conditions. In these instances, the charge of draft dodging will be amended, and the draft dodger will be issued a conditional sentence.

This large-scale draft effort coincided with a high-level emergency conference of haredi rabbinic leaders, who declared total opposition to the draft. "It is forbidden to go into a military framework under any circumstances," read a joint statement. "Every young man and woman must stand firm in their faith and not be tempted to go into the army."

Head of United Torah Judaism's Degel HaTorah faction, MK Moshe Gafni, criticized Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara for her role in the new enforcement procedure.

“Lord, we ask for wisdom and understanding for all parties involved in this sensitive issue. We pray for peace between the religious communities and the state, that dialogue and mutual respect would prevail over conflict and division.”

The Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) revealed Thursday that the 14-year-old boy used as pro-Hamas, anti-Israel propaganda received medical treatment in Israel in 2018.

"Once again, Hamas is using photos of sick children to push the 'starvation' narrative and blame Israel," COGAT posted. "But the truth tells a different story."

According to data from Israel's security establishment, since the activation of the humanitarian mechanism, approximately 3,700 Gazans—mostly children and their escorts—have exited Gaza via Israeli territory for medical treatment.

COGAT concluded, "Hamas continues to cynically exploit Gaza's residents to advance its own twisted agenda, and some international media are falling for it."

“Father, we pray for truth to shine brightly in the midst of propaganda and lies. We ask for protection and healing for the children of Gaza, and that humanitarian aid would reach those who truly need it, unmanipulated by terror groups.”

Arab and Muslim countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey, signed a declaration Tuesday condemning for the first time Hamas's onslaught of October 7, 2023, and calling on the Palestinian terror group to release all hostages, disarm, and end its rule of Gaza.

Seventeen countries, plus the 22-member Arab League and the entire European Union, supported the "New York Declaration," which sets out a phased plan to end the nearly eight-decade conflict and the ongoing war in Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opposes a two-state solution and has rejected the meeting on both nationalistic and security grounds. The US also boycotted the meeting, calling it "unproductive and ill-timed."

Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Danon sharply criticized the participants, saying, "There are those who fight terrorists and extremist forces and those who turn a blind eye or resort to appeasement."

With a growing number of Western countries declaring they could soon recognize Palestinian statehood amid outrage over Israel's handling of the Gaza conflict, families of hostages held in Gaza condemned such action as a "shameful" reward for Hamas.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum said, "Recognition of a Palestinian state while Hamas holds 50 hostages isn't just a step away from peace, it is a blatant violation of international law and a dangerous moral and political violation that bestows legitimacy to horrifying war crimes."

The families called on world leaders to demand, before all else, the release of the hostages, then an end to fighting.

“Lord, we intercede for the immediate release of all hostages held in Gaza. May world leaders have courage and wisdom to stand firmly for justice, and may peace be established through truth and righteousness.”

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Wednesday that his government intends to recognize the "State of Palestine" in September, provided the Palestinian Authority meets specific conditions tied to governance and security.

Recognition will be contingent upon the PA holding elections in 2026, undergoing full demilitarization, and excluding Hamas from any future governing coalition.

Israel condemned the move, calling it a reward for terror and harmful to the ceasefire and hostage-release efforts.

Singer Regina Spektor paused her concert on Saturday after anti-Israel protesters began shouting "Free Palestine" during her performance in Portland, Oregon.

The Jewish artist, who immigrated to New York from the Soviet Union as a child, told the hecklers, "You're just yelling at a Jew," before security escorted them out.

Spektor addressed the crowd, saying, "The only reason I even speak English is because I came here to escape this... I came from a country where people treated Jews as othered, and I'm being othered here, and it sucks."

The interruption highlighted the growing wave of anti-Israel protests disrupting cultural and academic events across the United States since the outbreak of the Gaza war.

“Lord, we pray against antisemitism in all its forms in the United States and around the world. May You protect Jewish people from hatred and violence, grant them safety and peace, and open hearts to love and reconciliation.”

The Pope, the State Department, the United Nations, and a leading Christian group have all condemned a new major attack on Christians in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which the U.N. says left at least 49 dead.

In the latest of a tragic series of mass murders by Islamist terrorists in both Nigeria and the DRC, rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a sanctioned rebel group allied to the Islamic State with roots in Uganda, burst into a church in the eastern town of Komanda and hacked Christians worshipping inside with machetes and other knives. The congregation was attacked at 1 a.m. during a night vigil, reportedly praying for peace.

The rebels also burned nearby homes, and nine children were among the dead. Several villagers were abducted. A U.S. State Department spokesperson strongly condemned this cowardly act of violence against Christians in their place of worship. Pope Leo XIV called for peace, saying, “May the blood of these martyrs become a seed of peace, reconciliation, fraternity, and love for the Congolese people.”

The U.N.’s Stabilization Mission in the DRC expressed “deep outrage at these heinous acts of violence, which constitute serious violations of international humanitarian law and infringements on human rights.”

Christian charity Open Doors warned that the ADF seeks to turn large parts of the DRC into an Islamic caliphate similar to the one created by ISIS in Iraq and Syria in 2014. Despite President Trump’s brokered peace initiative in the region, rural areas remain defenseless, leaving Christians vulnerable to repeated massacres.

“Lord, we lift up our persecuted brothers and sisters in the Democratic Republic of Congo and across Africa. We ask for Your divine protection over their lives, comfort for grieving families, and justice against those who commit such atrocities. May Your peace and love prevail where violence seeks to destroy faith and hope.”
